FAQs

colorful transparency from our home to yours…

Our rugs may seem mysterious in beauty, but we want to be as transparent as possible. Sourced from diverse tribes including Beni Mcguild, Beni Ourain, Azilal, Boujad, Tuareg and more throughout exotic Morocco, each rug is handcrafted from 100% wool and is vegetable dyed or left in their natural wool color. There is no mystery in the quality of each artistically-crafted rug. Our quality control measures ensure well-constructed and high-quality hand-made rugs. Here are answers to frequently asked questions about our rugs. If your question isn’t answered below, please contact us on our contact page.

why are the rugs not in standard sizing?

These rugs are made for the architecture in Morocco. Often the rooms or areas that they are created for are very long and narrow, hence the unconventional shape. Each rug has added character with its unique size. Occasionally the dimensions will change very slightly from end to end. This is not a mistake but is tell-tale of an authentic woven piece. Multiple women work simultaneously on the loom to create the rugs which can cause variation.

do you repair and wash rugs?

All rugs are washed and repaired prior to shipment. Vintage rugs may show signs of age that go un-repaired as we focus on all major repairs to a piece. (tearing and holes). Abrash (fading colors), missing tassels...are common in an antique piece and will NOT be repaired before shipment.
